Flying Sheep Sangiovese 2016

Sangiovese is only grown in a couple of regions in New Zealand. Our belief that it can be grown successfully in Hawkes Bay comes from our short experience and comparison with the old word, Italy.

The NZ expression will be more fruit forward than that of the old world, thats due to a combination of soils, climate and winemaking. However the ripeness we can achieve in Hawke's Bay is due to our longer season, typically dry harvest and latent heat compared to other regions.

Vibrant, concentrated and richly coloured with wafts of violets and black cherry, that led into flavours of blackcurrant and ripe plum flavours. Plenty of ripe fruit, hints of black pepper and sandalwood, with lovely soft ripe tannins. Ripe, plush, generous and refined wine.
