Hawke's
Bay is not the region that first springs to mind when you think of NZ Pinot
Noir, but this offering from relative newcomer Osawa Wines shows plenty of
varietal twang. Spiced red cherry and plum fruits segue into lighter wafts of
game, red licorice and forest floor. Bright acidity, fine-grained tannins and a
medium-length finish feature in a wine that shows excellent drinkability.
